Training Details and Rotations

Combined residents have longitudinal outpatient Family Health Center office hours throughout all 5 years of training.

PGY1

First year is highly structured with the first 8 ½ blocks in family medicine and the remaining 4 ½ blocks in psychiatry.

PGY2

Second year encompasses most of the categorical psychiatry PGY-2 rotations as well as 4 ½ blocks of family medicine that includes inpatient pediatrics and obstetrics.

PGY3

Third year is a full year of outpatient psychiatry. Combined residents continue to have continuity office hours at their Family Health Center.

PGY4 and PGY5

Senior combined residents complete the remaining family medicine requirements and in-patient geriatric psychiatry. Residents also have ample time for both family medicine and psychiatry electives.
