Rebecca Fabbro MD

  • Third Year

I was born in Brooklyn and grew up 30 minutes outside New York City. I went to Yale University college where I majored in history. Prior to medical school, I spent several years teaching middle and high school in the Mississippi Delta through Teach For America. I attended medical school at Duke University School of Medicine in North Carolina, where my research focused on how we can educate physicians to better reduce racial healthcare disparities. I hope to work to destigmatize mental illness and practice integrated primary care, especially for patients with substance use disorders and/or severe persistent mental illness. I’m thrilled to be living in Pittsburgh where I am closer to my large Italian family in New Jersey! Outside the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my partner, Tomas, and our two cats, exploring Pittsburgh neighborhoods and taking photographs.
