Michelle Ikoma, MD

  • Family Medicine

I grew up in the Chicago area, then moved to North Carolina to attend college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). At that point, I had no worldly clue what I wanted to do with my life, and eight major changes later, I graduated with a degree in business and kinesiology plus an incidental math minor. After spending 18 months working for a marketing and sales company, I pivoted career paths because people were much cooler than spreadsheets. I returned to UNC for medical school and earned a Master of Public Health degree (also from UNC) en route to my medical degree. I could not be more excited to be starting residency at St. Margaret! Within medicine, my interests include behavioral health, LGBTQ+ health, adolescent medicine, and medical education. When I’m not working, you can find me doing gymnastics, rock climbing, spending quality time with loved ones, and searching for a four-legged friend (dog) on Petfinder.
