I have been the Director, Medical Library Services at UPMC St. Margaret since 2000. I completed my undergraduate work at Grove City College with a degree in Communication, Secondary Education and Literature and received my master’s in library science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1985. I worked as an engineering and business librarian for Westinghouse Electric Corporation, SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) and Federated Investors. I also worked as the librarian at Forbes Regional Hospital. I became the Director of Continuing Medical Education in 2018.
I support the work of residents, fellows, and faculty members to locate current medical literature and resources. I support scholarly activities including teaching, presentations and publishing through research, article and resource retrieval and citation management activities including generating and editing bibliographies. I provide presentations and offers individualized instruction on these topics. I support Board Review activities.
As the Director of Continuing Medical Education, I organize weekly Grand Rounds lectures in cooperation with Physician Advisor, Weston Nix, DO.
