Interprofessional Geriatric Quality Improvement Curriculum

Purpose

  • To familiarize the geriatric learner with the key components of carrying out a successful quality improvement project, from conceptualization to final presentation preparation.
  • To enhance verbal and written communication skills through formal and informal presentations and scientific writing.
  • To develop quality improvement problem-solving skills through working group discussions and by working closely with a project mentor.
  • To contribute to the diversity of geriatric training, which will ultimately result in a well-rounded candidate eligible for a wide range of career opportunities.

Several working group meetings are scheduled throughout the year to provide guidance. The goal is to help fellows submit an AGS abstract by mid-December. The final project will also be presented at a GMCC session in the spring.
