Patricia McGuire MD

Patricia McGuire, MD, is the Director of Psychiatric Education. A graduate of Jefferson Medical College, she trained in pediatrics, general psychiatry, and child/adolescent psychiatry in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.   Dr. McGuire is the psychiatrist with the Integrated Behavioral Health team, providing psychiatric consultation to residents and their patients at the three UPMC St. Margaret Family Health Centers.  Dr. McGuire is an enthusiastic proponent of increasing access to high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services for underserved patients of all ages.  Dr. McGuire has special interests in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol use disorders; child/adolescent/family behavioral health and well-being; ADHD; CBT for sleep; Motivational Interviewing.  She tries to maintain balance by spending time with family, reading and exercising (yoga, swimming, running, walking/hiking, bicycling).  Favorite hikes - the Salkantay trail in Peru and the High Sierra Loop in Yosemite.
