Kelton Mock MD

  • Second Year

I grew up in Cache Valley, Utah. During high school, I was fortunate to learn Spanish during a year in Costa Rica. I then attended college at the University of Puget Sound, where I studied music (string bass and piano) and molecular biology. Some things that shaped my current practice of medicine include the activist legacy of my Quaker grandparents, serving as a medical assistant at an FQHC in my hometown, being a member of the unique 5-year Program in Medical Education for the Latino Community at UC Irvine, and learning about the true meaning of community with a transnational group of Son Jarocho musicians in Santa Ana, California. With my dual training in family medicine and psychiatry, and as a National Health Service Corps Scholar, I plan to become a behavioral health consultant for primary care providers in medically underserved areas. I hope to eventually apply my clinical and systems-level training to develop regional health collaborations that improve primary care and mental health accessibility in under-resourced communities.
