Aaron Pickering, PharmD, received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Duquesne University in 2012.  He completed a PG1 Pharmacy Practice residency at UPMC Mercy the following year and then went on to complete a PGY2 Infectious Diseases residency at UPMC Presbyterian-Shadyside in 2014.  After residency, Dr. Pickering was hired to start an antimicrobial stewardship program at the University of Maryland’s Baltimore-Washington Medical Center.  He returned to the UPMC system in the fall of 2015 to become part of the antimicrobial stewardship team at St. Margaret Hospital where he works in collaboration with numerous healthcare professionals to better patient outcomes and improve antibiotic use.
