Dr. Paul Larson is a graduate of Gordon College and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed Family Medicine Residency at The Washington Hospital in Washington, Pennsylvania and a Post-graduate diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene at the University of Liverpool, U.K.
Dr. Larson subsequently practiced full-spectrum family medicine including high-risk surgical obstetrics for two years at the A.I.C. Kapsowar Mission Hospital in Kenya with Africa Inland Mission International. He returned to the USA in 2009 to complete an MS in medical education at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellowship in faculty development at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Family Medicine, UPMC St. Margaret.
Dr. Larson is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and WONCA (Global Family Medicine). He is actively involved with the global health initiatives of these organizations and currently represents STFM to WONCA. Dr. Larson has special interests and grant supported research in the development of Family Medicine in Africa. Dr. Larson’s outpatient clinical practice is located at the UPMC St. Margaret New Kensington Family Health Center.
Dr. Larson is married with 5 wonderful children and is an avid reader, runner, homeschooler, and motorcycle rider.
