Patricia McGuire, MD, is Director of Psychiatric Education. Dr. McGuire teaches behavioral medicine via clinical supervision, direct observation of clinical visits, didactic lectures, behavioral health case conferences and Balint/Support groups. As a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Dr. McGuire trained in pediatrics, general psychiatry and child/adolescent psychiatry in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Dr. McGuire is the psychiatric consultant on the Integrated Behavioral Health team, which treats patients in the three St. Margaret Family Health Centers. In addition to integrated behavioral health, Dr. McGuire has special interests in utilizing short term, evidenced based therapies in primary care, such as problem-solving therapy, CBT for sleep and ADHD, mindfulness. She strives mightily to achieve work/life balance by spending time with family, reading and exercising (swimming, running, walking/hiking, bicycling).
