The Geriatric Care Center is an evaluation and treatment center designed to meet the health needs of people over age 60. The team includes a physician, psychiatrist, neuropsychologist, registered nurse, clinical pharmacist and licensed clinical social worker. The team provides a thorough geriatric medical assessment, as well as specialized Alzheimer’s disease/dementia care, evaluation of balance and mobility problems, behavioral health and counseling services, and care planning assistance. The fellow spends ½ day each week in this center, paired with an attending, following his/her own panel of patients.

  • Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facility Rounds

Each fellow is assigned to one of 3 nursing homes  – The Willows of Presbyterian Senior Care in Oakmont, Canterbury Place in Lawrenceville, and Seneca Place in Verona. Resident assessment and management, nursing facility regulatory issues, and rehabilitation therapies are reviewed. Each site has licensed clinical social workers, case management, geriatric psychiatrists, wound care nursing, and the full complement of rehabilitation services providing available to the residents.
